Update Mar. 5, 2015:
Sadly, the overhaul of SteamGameSales.com (now SteamGifts.com) has removed their RSS feed completely, making this widget non-functional, without possibility of fix, unless they bring back the dynamic RSS feed. Thanks for all of your support of this widget, it was a great adventure to code, and I look forward to working more with XWidget in the future.
As promised, I present Game Specials for XWidget. A port (and massive upgrade) of my Rainmeter skin with the same purpose, this widget brings the currently running game specials from digital stores across the net, including Steam, GameStop, and several others, right to your desktop. Essentially this is a desktop frontend for SteamGameSales.com, and uses their wonderful dynamic RSS feed API. This widget adds several features not found on the website however, like two stage sorting. Another feature is that the website, and therefore this widget, lists every running special when there are more than 100 at once, which the steam store page is limited to. So you may completely miss some great specials without this widget!Features:
Pictures are indeed worth a thousand words, so I'll just show you all the features that are included. Below are images of the configuration menus. I think they speak for themselves about capability.
Defaults: i.imgur.com/N51sAx6.pngAdditional Features:
Tooltips - Mouseover any item to see the details: when the sale started, which store it's from, normal price, etc.
Links - Click on the game name to open the store page directly in the Steam Browser (or your default browser for other stores). Or click the price to instantly search Google for the game title.
I'll be honest, this is a beast of a widget. I've tested it well and all the major features work, but with over 1300 lines of code and 55 functions, there are bound to be bugs. So please report any bugs you find and I'll do my best to fix them.
